Holiday Happenings During Winter Break!

Looking for something fun to do over the holidays? The zoo will be offering an array of holiday specials and activities during the week between Christmas and New Year’s Day!

  • Winter breakOn Monday Dec. 26 and Thursday Dec. 29, the zoo will offer a School’s Out
Special, with $5 off an adult admission for each paid child ticket purchased
(up to two children, amounting to a $10 discount, or free admission, for the
    adult).
  • On Friday Dec. 30, the zoo will offer its $5 Friday special, with every
    ticket costing $5.
  • On Saturday Dec. 31, the zoo will again ring in the New Year a bit early
with its traditional Noon Year’s Eve event, featuring treats for zoo patrons
as they take in special animal programs and watch the animals enjoy treats
as well. Activities begin at 11 a.m.

Also, this holiday season, instead of another toy, consider giving a child
in your life an animal education experience through Winter Zoo Camp. The
camp costs $35 for zoo members and $40 for non-members. Camp is 9 a.m. to 4
p.m. Thursday Dec. 29 for children in kindergarten through second grade and
the same hours Friday Dec. 30 for children in third through fifth grades.
Register online or call 218-730-4500, extension 205.

In addition, zoo memberships are available for purchase and make popular
holiday gifts. An annual family membership costs $75. Other membership plans
are available. For many families, a zoo membership pays for itself after
just a few visits.

No matter which day you choose to visit, don’t forget to check out our calendar of free zookeeper talks!
(Please note that the zoo is closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays during the winter.)
