Visit the Zoo

At the Lake Superior Zoo, there’s no time to hibernate. We’re open year-round.

The zoo in Duluth, MN, is the ideal place to unleash your wild side. Here, you’ll find animals, the zoo train, special tours, a daily calendar of activities and much more.

The Lake Superior Zoo also features picnic tables (yes, you can pack your own picnic!) with a jungle playground and a giant cement snake for a great photo op – all included in zoo admission. And don’t forget to visit the Safari Café to fuel your zoo adventure with a variety of lunch and snack favorites.

View the zoo map to see all that’s in store. Note that the Polar Shores exhibit is closed due to damage from the 2012 flood.

Winter Hours: November 1 – April 30  (Closed Tuesdays & Wednesdays) 10 am-4 pm

Summer Hours:
May 1 – October 31 (Open seven days a week) 10 am-5 pm

Last admission is one hour before closing. But fur roaring out loud, don’t cut it that close! We recommend allotting at least two hours to experience all the zoo offers.
• Closed at 1 pm December 24
• Closed New Year’s Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas
• 6/11/15: Last admission is at 3 pm, zoo grounds close at 4 pm for M.A.D. Safari
